Biography:
Victor Zsasz, created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle, first appeared in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 (June 1992). He is a Gotham City serial killer.
Zsasz, originally a successful businessman, lost everything to gambling. Convinced life is meaningless, he believes he is "freeing" his victims from their pointless existence.
His signature is a tally mark he carves into his own skin for each person he kills. The number of scars is a constant reminder of his crimes and the ever-increasing scope of his madness.
